Terms of Service

0. Purpose
This service (hojuandi.com and related subdomains) is operated by Youngjae Kim (sole trader, trading as “Hoju&I”) .
1. Document Priority
If our public documents are inconsistent, applicable law prevails.
2. Definitions
Unless defined otherwise, words have their ordinary meaning.
3. Provision of Services
We do not collect or store government identifiers (e.g., passports, driver licences, Medicare numbers, or TFNs) in accordance with APP 9.
3-1. Identification & Misuse
We do not request or collect government ID scans in accordance with APP 9.
Users must not upload or share government identification images or numbers, passwords, credit card details, or other sensitive credentials through the Service.
3-2. Notices
Important updates to these Terms will be announced within the Service or on our website.
3-3. Account Deletion
Users may delete their accounts at any time. Upon deletion, your account and associated content are promptly removed from public view. For security and operational integrity, limited traces may remain temporarily in logs or backups as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

In rare cases where an automated deletion request fails due to technical issues, users may contact hojuandi.service@gmail.com for manual assistance. We will respond and resolve the issue as promptly as possible.
In rare cases involving disputes or legal obligations, limited records may be retained as required by law.
4. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
- No infringement of intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- No false, misleading, discriminatory, or pornographic content.
- No impersonation, harassment, or harmful distortion of facts.
- No scraping, bots, reverse engineering, or attempts to bypass security or rate limits.
- No unlawful recruitment, unlicensed brokering, or prohibited transactions.
- Job posts must comply with Australian labour and anti-discrimination laws.
- No trade in weapons, explosives, restricted medicines, illegal gambling, spyware, or personal data.
- Do not upload malicious code or hacking tools; such activity may be reported to authorities.
You must not resell, lease, or commercially exploit the Service, Accounts, or APIs without written consent. You are responsible for damages caused by your unlawful or negligent use, to the extent permitted by law.
Users must comply with applicable laws and these Terms. You are responsible for your Account and must promptly report suspected unauthorised access to hojuandi.service@gmail.com. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from your negligence.
5. User Content & License
You grant Hoju&I a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and technically reproduce your content solely to operate, back up, and secure the Service.This licence ends when the content is removed, subject to reasonable backup retention (see Privacy Policy section 5-3 for details).
Cached or backup copies may persist temporarily for security or legal compliance and will be deleted once no longer required.
We do not currently use user uploads for advertising or AI training. If this changes, we will update the Privacy Policy (and these Terms if needed) and obtain consent where required by law.
You confirm that your Content does not infringe others’ rights.
5-1. Posting Guidelines & Disclaimers
Information and opinions on Hoju&I are posted by users and are not verified by us. You are solely responsible for assessing their reliability, accuracy, and legality before acting on them. Do not post or share personal, financial, or identity information (e.g., bank details, full ID numbers). Any loss or damage resulting from reliance on or sharing of user content is your responsibility.
- Jobs / Work: We are not an employer or agent and do not verify listings. Verify offers, pay, and conditions independently.
- Rooms / Share Houses: Verify authenticity and contracts in person before transferring any money or deposit.
- Market (Second-hand): Transactions are between users and occur at your own risk. Inspect items and confirm payment/delivery arrangements before transferring funds.
- Community: Do not request or publish others’ personal identifiers (e.g., passport numbers, TFNs, bank details). Harassment, threats, or unlawful content may be removed and accounts suspended.
- CampusTalk: CampusTalk is a community space where seniors and juniors at Australian universities freely share information about university life, courses, and campus life. All posts are based on the personal opinions and experiences of the authors, and Hoju&I does not verify the accuracy of the posted information or university-related details. Users must directly verify and make their own decisions regarding course selection, university choices, etc., and Hoju&I is not responsible for the content of the posts.
- Whisper (Anonymous Board): Anonymity does not permit harmful behaviour. You must not defame, identify, harass, insult, or target specific individuals or groups. Content containing personal attacks, profanity, hate speech, or harmful rumours may be removed without notice. You remain fully responsible for all content you post, including anonymous posts. Misuse may result in account suspension or termination.
- Today’s Activities (Play): Event, restaurant, and entertainment information is user-generated and not verified by us. Independently verify dates, prices, safety, and location details before attending or booking.
- Professional Services: We are not a party to any agreements between users and service providers (e.g., movers, lawyers, accountants). Independently verify credentials, licenses, insurance, and service terms before engaging any provider.
Off-platform interactions are outside our scope and at your risk. You agree to indemnify Hoju&I against claims, losses, or costs arising from your unlawful or negligent use of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
Reports of scams or policy violations may be sent to hojuandi.service@gmail.com. We review them in good faith and may take action at our discretion.
Do not share personal or financial information with people you meet through the Service. Any off-platform meetings are arranged at your discretion and risk; we do not screen users or guarantee their conduct.
Platform Non-Party Notice: Transactions, negotiations, or communications that occur off the Service (e.g., via external messaging, payment, or social platforms) are entirely between users. Hoju&I is not a party to such arrangements and does not provide escrow, guarantees, or dispute resolution for off-platform dealings.
You are responsible for exercising due care when using the Service. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from your failure to exercise reasonable care.
6. Moderation & Fairness
We do not require or collect government identification unless required by law or upon a lawful request from an authorised enforcement authority.
If we reasonably believe that an account or content may breach applicable law or these Terms, we may take proportionate actions such as temporarily limiting visibility, restricting or removing content, or suspending/terminating accounts to protect the community and ensure compliance. Actions are taken carefully and in good faith, at our discretion.
Users are responsible for ensuring their content is accurate and lawful. We are not liable for moderation outcomes except where required by law, and we have no general obligation to monitor user content.
Reports of rights infringement or abuse may be sent to hojuandi.service@gmail.com. We review them in good faith and may act where appropriate. You may also contact us if you believe a moderation action was taken in error.
7. Copyright — Notice & Takedown
We respect intellectual property rights and operate a good faith notice and takedown process under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
Rights holders or their authorised agents may send notices to hojuandi.service@gmail.com with sufficient information to identify the material and the claimant. False or misleading notices may have legal consequences.
We may remove, disable access to, or refuse to restore content at our discretion, including in cases of repeat infringement or legal risk. We are not obliged to notify users before removal.
8. Service Availability & Performance
Service availability and performance may vary due to network, server, or third-party factors. We do not guarantee continuous uptime or specific performance levels.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for interruptions, delays, or losses arising from force majeure events such as natural disasters, power or network outages, regulatory actions, or third-party downtime.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at our discretion. We have no ongoing obligation to maintain or support any particular feature or version.
Where the Service is provided free of charge, it is offered on an “As Is” and “As Available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from changes or discontinuation of free features.
Where the Service is provided for a fee, we will take reasonable steps to give prior notice of any material changes that may significantly affect paid users, consistent with our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
9. Privacy
Our handling of personal information, including any overseas disclosures, is governed by our Privacy Policy.
For processing and overseas transfer details, see our Privacy Policy. We do not require government identifiers under APP 9, and we take reasonable steps under APP 8.
We do not conduct direct marketing under APP 7. If direct marketing is introduced in future, we will provide clear notice and an opt-out option before any communication is sent.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
Disputes should first be raised in writing to hojuandi.service@gmail.com.
The courts of New South Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
To the extent permitted by law, Hoju&I is only responsible for direct losses caused by our own fault. We are not responsible for indirect, consequential, or user-caused losses.
11. Amendments & Notice
We may amend these Terms to reflect legal, policy, or service changes. Where required by law, we will provide notice before changes take effect.
12. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “As Is” and “As Available”. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations, and conditions except those that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Our liability is limited to the resupply of the Service or the cost associated with it, unless otherwise required by the ACL.
13. Miscellaneous
Lawful requests: We respond to valid government or law-enforcement requests in accordance with applicable law and may challenge overbroad or unlawful requests.
Force majeure: To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation natural disasters, network or power outages, or government orders.
Feedback IP: Suggestions you submit are licensed to us on a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual basis, unless you expressly mark them as confidential.
Severability & Entire Agreement: If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the Service.
No waiver & Assignment: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may assign these Terms as permitted by law; you may not assign them without our consent unless permitted by law.
Compliance: The determination of whether a clause is unlawful or an unfair contract term will be made in accordance with applicable laws, including but not limited to the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), and may be subject to a court’s judgment or other competent authority.
14. Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
Despite anything else in these Terms, nothing limits or excludes any consumer guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Any disclaimer or limitation operates only to the extent permitted by law. We also comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
